How GRHEC Was Formed...
When it was announced in January, 2005, that the UBESD Home Program was closing, a series of meetings were held to discuss the options for homeschooling families.
Out of that came a parent-led homeschooling association named Grande Ronde Home Education Connection. This group would be for local homeschooling families and run by volunteer parents. A low-cost membership fee would help the group provide student activities, parent resources, an email list, a website, newsletters, and the funds to become a non-profit organization.
